This challenging out-and-back hiking route will take you to the stunning Hochspitz / Monte Vancomun peak in the beautiful area of Mitterkar. The total distance of the hike is approximately 9.6 kilometers with an elevation gain of 1013 meters, making it a difficult trek that will take around 4 hours and 45 minutes to complete.

Starting at the parking area, you will begin your journey towards the first point of interest, the Mitterkar-Biwak shelter, located 2.3 kilometers from the start. This shelter provides a great resting spot for hikers to take a break and enjoy the surrounding nature.

Continuing on the trail, at around 3.58 kilometers from the start, you will come across the Stollen peak, although it is not directly on the trail. It's best enjoyed from a distance due to its proximity off the main path.

As you progress further along the trail, at approximately 4.8 kilometers from the start, you will reach the highlight of the hike, the Hochspitz / Monte Vancomun peak. This peak offers breathtaking panoramic views that make the strenuous journey well worth it.
