Welcome to the Chassoure hiking route! This challenging circular trail spans 9.21 kilometers with an elevation gain of 736 meters, taking approximately 3 hours and 58 minutes to complete.
Starting at La Chaux, just 0.09 kilometers from the trailhead, you'll begin your ascent towards the first point of interest, Chassoure peak, located 4.43 kilometers from the start. This breathtaking peak offers stunning panoramic views of the surrounding area.
As you continue along the trail, you'll encounter Mont Gelé, another impressive peak 3.51 kilometers from the start. Be sure to take in the beauty of the natural surroundings as you hike through this rugged terrain.
At 1.52 kilometers from the start, you'll find Cabane du Mont-Fort, an alpine hut where you can take a rest and enjoy a meal. Remember to pack enough water and snacks for your journey, as this hike is quite demanding.
Further along the trail, you'll come across Col du Mont Gelé, a saddle point located 3.1 kilometers from the start. Take a moment to appreciate the stunning views before continuing on your adventure.
