This hiking route takes you through a challenging 16.834 kilometers long trail to reach the stunning Cinder Cone. The area is known for its natural beauty and diverse landscapes.
Starting at the parking lot at the trailhead, you will begin your journey with a gradual incline. Along the way, at about 1.04 kilometers from the start, you will come across a water source where you can refill your water bottles. It is advisable to carry an ample water supply as this is an extremely difficult hike with an elevation gain of 425 meters.
As you continue on the trail, you will pass by an information point at 1.25 kilometers, providing insights about the area's flora and fauna. About midway through the hike, at 8.12 kilometers from the start, you will reach the majestic Cinder Cone peak. The peak offers panoramic views of the surrounding landscapes, making the challenging journey worth it.
On your way back, at 3.79 kilometers from the start, you will find another information point where you can learn more about the geological features of the area. Further along the trail, at 4.03 kilometers, there is another information point showcasing the cultural significance of the region.
