This challenging hiking route takes you through a beautiful area with stunning natural and historic landmarks. The trail is an out-and-back type, with a total distance of 6.405 kilometers and an elevation gain of 530 meters, making it a difficult but rewarding trek.
Starting at the parking area, you will begin your journey towards the first point of interest, a wayside shrine located 2.72 kilometers from the starting point. As you continue along the trail, you will come across another wayside shrine at the 2.29 kilometer mark. Both of these shrines offer a glimpse into the area's historic past.
Around the midway point of the hike, at 3.14 kilometers from the start, you will reach Monte Paglino, a natural peak that offers breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Make sure to take a moment to soak in the beauty of the area before continuing on.
Further along the trail, you will encounter the Dolmen del Monte Freddone, a unique viewpoint situated at 3.2 kilometers from the start. This is a great spot to rest and enjoy the scenery before heading back.
Additionally, there are several cave entrances scattered along the trail, such as Buca di Cthulhu at 0.23 kilometers from the start, though some are located off the main path. While exploring these caves can be an exciting adventure, make sure to stay on the designated trail for your safety.
