This extremely difficult hike in the beautiful area of Bohinj covers a distance of 22.657 kilometers with an elevation gain of 1886 meters. The hike is an out-and-back route, offering a challenging yet rewarding experience for hikers.
Starting out, hikers will come across the Kamba restaurant and a drinking water station, where they can refill their bottles before embarking on the journey. Along the trail, at about 8.69 kilometers from the start, there is a shelter called Zimska soba, providing a cozy spot for a quick rest.
Further along the trail, at 9.89 kilometers, hikers will reach the peak of Malo Špičje, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding landscapes. Continuing on, there are more peaks to explore like the one at 10.59 kilometers and a few others at 10.9 and 11.33 kilometers respectively.
For those interested in historical sites, a wayside shrine can be found at 6.52 kilometers from the start, adding a cultural touch to the hike. Additionally, viewpoints are scattered throughout the trail, with one at 3.56 kilometers and another at 1.02 kilometers, offering stunning vistas of the Bohinj area.
As the hike progresses, hikers will encounter various amenities such as an alpine hut, Zasavska koča na Prehodavcih, located at 8.48 kilometers from the start, providing a place to rest and refuel. There are also informational points along the trail for a deeper understanding of the surroundings.
