This extremely difficult hiking route takes you to the breathtaking Škrlatica peak in the beautiful alpine region. The trail is an out-and-back type, spanning a total distance of 12.848 kilometers with an elevation gain of 1689 meters, making it a challenging but rewarding trek.
As you embark on this adventure, you'll encounter several points of interest along the way. At the beginning of the trail, you'll find parking facilities for your convenience. Further along, approximately 0.45 kilometers into the hike, you'll come across Aljažev dom v Vratih, an alpine hut where you can take a break and enjoy the surroundings.
Continuing on, at 0.33 kilometers from the start, you'll reach Šlajmerjev dom v Vratih, another alpine hut offering a place to rest and refuel. As you make your way towards the peak, you'll also pass by Bivak IV. Na rušju, a shelter for hikers looking to spend the night.
Midway through the journey, you'll encounter Strme police, a peak that offers stunning panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Be sure to stop by the drinking water spring located 0.45 kilometers from the start to replenish your water supply.
Throughout the hike, you'll be surrounded by natural beauty, with rock formations and informative signboards along the trail to enhance your experience. Remember to bring plenty of water, snacks, and proper hiking gear as this challenging route will test your endurance.
