This hiking route takes you through the stunning area surrounding Mali Triglav. With a distance of 27.972 kilometers and an elevation gain of 2381 meters, this hike is classified as extremely difficult and should only be attempted by experienced hikers.
The trail starts at a parking area (closest to the start) where you can leave your vehicle before embarking on this challenging journey. Make sure to bring plenty of water and snacks, as well as checking the weather forecast before setting out.
As you make your way along the trail, you will come across several points of interest. At the beginning of the hike, you will pass by the Aljažev dom v Vratih alpine hut and the Šlajmerjev dom v Vratih alpine hut. These accommodations offer a great resting spot and a chance to refuel for the journey ahead.
Further along the trail, you will encounter the Bivak pod Luknjo shelter, the Dom Planika pod Triglavom alpine hut, and the ruins of Planinski dom Napoleone Cozzi. These landmarks provide a glimpse into the history and natural beauty of the area.
Midway through the hike, you will reach Sedlo Dolič, a natural saddle offering breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. Nearby, you can find the Koča na Doliču alpine hut, where you can take a break and enjoy the scenery.
Towards the end of the hike, you will come across Mali Triglav, a peak that serves as the destination of this challenging out-and-back route. Take your time to soak in the views before beginning your journey back.
