This extremely difficult hiking route will take you to the stunning Barracomica destination. Spanning a distance of 15.895 kilometers with an elevation gain of 1291 meters, this hike is not for the faint of heart.
Starting at the Refugi forestau dera Honeria, make sure to check the weather forecast before embarking on this journey. As you begin your trek, you'll come across the Cabana de Pèirahita shelter about 4.68 kilometers into the hike, providing a resting spot for weary hikers.
Midway through the route, you'll encounter the Pas dera Potèrla saddle at 6.79 kilometers from the start, offering a picturesque viewpoint to catch your breath. As you continue onwards, the Barracomica peak and Còth de Barracomica saddle will be a rewarding sight at 7.95 and 7.7 kilometers from the start respectively.
For those in need of hydration, a spring at 4.25 kilometers from the start and drinking water stations at various points along the trail will provide much-needed refreshment.
Although challenging, the scenic views and natural beauty along the way make this hike a memorable experience. Remember to pack plenty of water, snacks, and essential hiking gear. And don't forget to visit Era Val de Toran and Era Honeria for a deeper insight into the area's cultural and historical significance.
As this route is an out-and-back trail, you'll retrace your steps back to the starting point after reaching the Barracomica destination. With a duration of approximately 6 hours and 54 minutes, this adventure will test your endurance and reward you with breathtaking landscapes.
