This hiking route in the Stony Cove area is a challenging 6.191 kilometers long trail with an elevation gain of 562 meters, taking approximately 2 hours and 50 minutes to complete. The trail is classified as difficult due to its length and elevation.
Starting at Stony Cove, hikers will first pass by Caudale Moor, a peak located 2.12 kilometers from the trailhead. As you continue, you will encounter several water points along the way, located at distances such as 2.34 km, 2.39 km, 3.1 km (x4), and 2.22 km from the start.
Further along the trail at 2.54 kilometers from the beginning, hikers will find another water source. Additionally, at 2.73 kilometers from the start, you will come across Stony Cove Pike, another peak in the area.
Although not directly on the trail, at 2.13 kilometers from the start, there is Mark Atkinson's Monument, a historic memorial worth visiting.
