This hiking route showcases the historical ruins and natural beauty of the Cenizas area. The 4.5-kilometer trail has an elevation gain of 261 meters, making it a moderate difficulty hike.
Starting from the parking area, hikers will pass by several ruins, including cannons and historic batteries, providing a glimpse into the area's past. At the beginning of the trail, you'll encounter ruins just 1.87 kilometers from the start, with additional ruins scattered along the way.
As you continue along the trail, you'll reach the "Cenizas" peak at 2.26 kilometers, offering panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Further along, at 2.16 kilometers, a viewpoint provides a perfect spot to rest and take in the scenery.
For history enthusiasts, the trail also passes by a castle, "Batería de Cabo Negrete," and the ruins of "Batería de Las Cenizas," adding depth to the hiking experience.
Remember to bring plenty of water and snacks, as well as to check the weather forecast before embarking on the hike. With a total duration of approximately 1 hour and 42 minutes, this out-and-back trail is perfect for a half-day adventure in the Cenizas area.
