This challenging hiking route takes you along the Arête Ouest de la Petite Autane, offering stunning views and various points of interest along the way. The trail spans a distance of 11.484 kilometers with an elevation gain of 784 meters, making it a difficult endeavor that will take approximately 4 hours and 37 minutes to complete.
Starting at the trailhead, you'll pass by a parking area at the beginning of the route, providing convenient access to the start of your adventure. As you make your way along the trail, about midway through, you'll come across the Le Cuchon viewpoint, offering a breathtaking panoramic vista of the surrounding landscape. This is a perfect spot to take a break, soak in the scenery, and snap some photos.
Continuing onwards, you'll find a restaurant called Le Chamois located just 0.09 kilometers off the trail. It's a great place to refuel and recharge before heading back on the path. Further along, at around the 5.74-kilometer mark, you'll encounter another viewpoint that provides a different perspective of the area.
For the more adventurous hikers, there is an Aire de décollage (takeoff site) for free flying enthusiasts located about midway through the trail. It's an exciting spot to witness paragliders taking to the skies if you're lucky.
Near the end of the route, you'll find information points and a bar and restaurant, allowing you to relax and unwind after completing the challenging hike.
