This hiking route takes you through the beautiful Märzengrund area, offering stunning views and a challenging terrain. The route is an out-and-back type, totaling 11.689 kilometers with an elevation gain of 743.0 meters, making it a difficult hike that will take approximately 4 hours and 33 minutes to complete.
As you start your journey, you will come across the Otto-Leixl-Hütte alpine hut at around 5.43 kilometers from the beginning of the trail. This is a great spot to take a break and enjoy some refreshments before continuing on.
Along the way, you will also encounter several water sources, some closer to the trail like the water point at 2.08 kilometers and others further away at 3.84, 4.08, and 4.08 kilometers from the start. It's always a good idea to refill your water bottles whenever you can.
At the 3.07-kilometer mark, you will reach the Heutaljoch saddle, providing a picturesque backdrop for your hike. This is a great spot to take in the surrounding views and snap some photos.
