This extremely difficult 13.909-kilometer circular hiking route takes you through the stunning Monte Isoscele area, offering breathtaking views and challenging terrain.
Starting from the parking area at the beginning of the trail, make sure you have enough water and snacks as this hike will take approximately 6 hours and 10 minutes to complete. The trail begins with a gradual ascent, passing by the Circolo degli scozzesi bar where you can take a quick break before continuing on.
Around 3.15 kilometers into the hike, you will reach the Capella della Fulca wilderness hut, a great spot to rest and enjoy the surroundings. As you make your way towards La Piota peak at the 5.5-kilometer mark, be prepared for a steep climb but the panoramic views at the top are definitely worth it.
Continuing on, you will pass by Monte Mater peak before reaching the drinking water station at around the 3.21-kilometer mark. Make sure to refill your water bottles here as the next section of the trail towards Monte Isoscele peak is quite challenging.
At the 6.45-kilometer mark, you will reach the Monte Isoscele peak, the highest point of the hike offering stunning views of the surrounding area. Take your time to soak in the beauty before starting the descent back towards the starting point.
Along the way, you will find a fountain for a quick refreshment at the 1.07-kilometer mark and another drinking water station at the 0.05-kilometer mark to keep you hydrated.
Before embarking on this challenging hike, make sure to check the weather forecast and wear appropriate hiking gear. It's recommended to start early in the day to avoid the heat and allow plenty of time to complete the hike. Remember to stay on the designated trail and be prepared for steep inclines and rocky terrain.
