The hiking route to Cueva la Jayeda - Canal de Trea in Onis is an extremely difficult 14.426 km out-and-back trail with an elevation gain of 681 meters.
Starting at the parking area, make sure to have enough water and check the weather forecast before embarking on this challenging hike. Along the trail, you will come across several points of interest.
About 2.89 km into the trail, you will find an information point, providing insights into the surrounding area. As you continue, you will encounter peaks like Cabeza del Burro, Pico Gustureru, and more. These peaks offer stunning views but require some off-trail exploration as they are not directly on the path.
Around the midway point, at 6.35 km, you will find Fuente Gustureru, a natural spring where you can refill your water supply. Further along, at 7.16 km, Collado Jermoso, a saddle point, offers a great spot to rest and take in the scenery.
Remember to stay hydrated and take breaks as needed, especially on the challenging sections of the trail. At 0.12 km and 0.26 km, drinking water sources are available for hikers.
