Welcome to Birkett Edge - Birkett Edge hiking route!

Located in a picturesque area, this challenging 11.855 kilometers long trail offers stunning views and a variety of points of interest to explore along the way.

Starting at the trailhead, you'll come across a convenient parking area right at the beginning of the hike. Make sure to bring plenty of water and snacks as the route will take you through diverse terrain with an elevation gain of 1082 meters.

As you make your way along the trail, at around 5.02 kilometers from the start, you'll reach Bakestall, a prominent peak in the area. Take a moment to soak in the breathtaking panoramic views before continuing onwards.

Around the midway point of the hike, at 5.93 kilometers from the start, you'll encounter Whitewater Dash / Dash Falls, a stunning waterfall that provides a refreshing break and a perfect spot for some picturesque photos.

Continuing on, you'll pass by Barkbeth Hill, another peak in the vicinity, at approximately 0.56 kilometers from the start. Although not directly on the trail, the views from this vantage point are worth the short detour.

Further along the trail, also at 5.93 kilometers from the start, you'll come across multiple waterfalls including two unnamed ones. These cascades offer a serene and tranquil atmosphere amidst the wilderness.

As you journey back towards the trailhead, take your time to appreciate the beauty of the surroundings and be prepared for the challenging terrain on the return leg of the out-and-back route.

With a duration of approximately 5 hours and 26 minutes, this difficult hike is best suited for experienced hikers with a good level of fitness.
