This extremely difficult out-and-back hiking route will take you to Monte Zugna, offering stunning views and historical landmarks along the way.
Starting at the parking area near the trailhead, you can fuel up at La Svolta restaurant and refill your water bottles at the nearby drinking water station before embarking on your journey. As you make your way along the trail, you'll pass by the ruins of ancient buildings, including Impluvio, Ex comando a.u., Ex ospedale mil., and more. These historic sites provide a glimpse into the area's past and are located midway through the hike.
About 3.15 kilometers into the hike, you'll come across another drinking water station for a quick refreshment break. As you continue on, you'll reach Sant Antonio wayside shrine at 2.38 kilometers from the start, adding a touch of cultural significance to your adventure.
The highlight of the hike is reaching the peak of Monte Zugna at 6.99 kilometers from the start. Take some time to soak in the panoramic views from this vantage point before retracing your steps back to the trailhead.
With a total distance of 13.972 kilometers and an elevation gain of 1243 meters, this hike is not for the faint of heart.
