This hiking route will take you through the beautiful Lamma Island in the Islands District of Hong Kong. The trail is circular, starting and ending at Lamma Boulders - a popular natural rock formation on the island.
As you begin your hike, you will pass by several points of interest along the way. After about 3 kilometers, you will reach two stunning beaches where you can take a break and enjoy the coastal scenery. As you continue on, you will come across the Kamikaze Grottos, a historic cave entrance that served as a strategic military location during World War II.
For those looking to extend their hike, there is a campsite at the Nan Ya Youth Camp about a kilometer into the route. This is a great spot to rest and enjoy the natural surroundings before continuing on your journey.
As you trek further, you will encounter more beaches, rock formations, and even a Japanese Tunnel with a distance of 4 kilometers from the starting point. Make sure to explore these unique landmarks along the way.
The total distance of the hike is approximately 10 kilometers with an elevation gain of 316 meters. The trail is of moderate difficulty due to its length and varying terrain, so make sure to come prepared with proper hiking gear, plenty of water, and snacks.
