This hike takes place in a beautiful area with stunning views and challenging terrain. The route is an out-and-back type, starting at destination name "H 2".
As you begin your journey, you will pass by a parking area located right at the start of the trail. About 0.75 kilometers into the hike, you'll come across an information point where you can learn more about the area. Further along, at around 1.05 kilometers from the start, another information point awaits you with valuable insights.
As you continue, you'll reach the Martinskopf peak, located at a distance of 4.04 kilometers from the start. Although not directly on the trail, this peak offers panoramic views and is worth a visit if time allows. At approximately 1.13 kilometers into the hike, you'll come across the Drei-Kirchen-Blick viewpoint, providing a picturesque spot to rest and admire the scenery.
Around the midway point of the hike, at 4.65 kilometers from the start, you'll find a restaurant and alpine hut called Berggasthaus Herzogstand. This is a great opportunity to refuel and take a break before heading back.
Throughout the trail, you'll also encounter various benches for resting and taking in the surroundings. Additionally, make sure to check out the Lerchwaldalpel ruins at 2.45 kilometers from the start and the Fahrenbergkopf peak at 4.64 kilometers.
With a total distance of 9.305 kilometers and an elevation gain of 781.0 meters, this hike is rated as difficult. It is important to bring an adequate water supply, wear proper hiking gear, and check the weather forecast before embarking on this adventure.
