This challenging hiking route will take you to the peak of Vrh Ljubeljščice;Selenitzasattel / Zgornji Plot. The 6.007-kilometer trail has an elevation gain of 595 meters and is estimated to take about 2 hours and 52 minutes to complete.
Starting from the trailhead, you will pass by various points of interest along the way. At the beginning of the hike, you will find a parking area, which is a convenient spot to leave your vehicle before starting the journey. As you continue, you will come across the Planinski dom na Zelenici alpine hut, where you can take a break and enjoy some refreshments.
Further along the trail, you will encounter the Selenitzasattel / Čez Pod saddle, offering beautiful panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Make sure to capture some photos here before continuing your ascent.
Midway through the hike, you will reach the peak of Vrh Ljubeljščice, where you can take in the breathtaking views and explore the area. From here, you can see the Koča Vrtača alpine hut in the distance, another point of interest along the trail.
As you make your way back, take a moment to appreciate the Spodnji Plot peak before heading back to the trailhead. Remember to bring plenty of water, snacks, and wear appropriate hiking gear.
