The Tai To Yan Path in the Yuen Long District offers hikers a moderate difficulty trail with a total distance of 6.165 kilometers and an elevation gain of 410 meters. The route is an out-and-back trail, taking approximately 2 hours and 27 minutes to complete.
Starting at the trailhead, hikers will come across the "素食亭" (Vegetarian Food Stall) just 0.07 kilometers into the hike. This is a great spot to grab a quick bite before continuing on the trail. As you trek further, you'll encounter the "黃竹園食水缸" (Huangzhu Garden Water Tank) at the 0.1 kilometer mark. This is a good opportunity to refill your water bottles before the uphill climb.
Midway through the hike, at 2.52 kilometers from the start, you'll reach the peak of "大刀屻 Tai To Yan." Take a moment to enjoy the panoramic views before heading back on the trail. Along the path, you'll also find shelters and information points for a brief rest or to learn more about the surrounding area.
As you make your way back, don't miss the peaks of "孖仔峒南峰" and "孖仔峒," each offering unique views of the Yuen Long District. The trail features several saddles like "林村坳 Lam Tsuen Au" where you can appreciate the natural beauty of the area.
