This extremely difficult out-and-back hiking route will take you to the stunning Monte Coppa / Kopa area. The 13.127 kilometers long trail offers a challenging elevation gain of 743.0 meters, so be prepared for a strenuous trek.
Starting at the trailhead, you will come across the Gostilna Šurc restaurant just 0.2 kilometers from the beginning, where you can grab a bite to eat before your adventure. Further along the trail at 1.03 kilometers, you'll find an information point to learn more about the area.
As you continue on, at 2.71 kilometers into the hike, you'll reach the Planinski dom Tromeja alpine hut, a perfect place to take a break and enjoy the breathtaking views. The Bivacco Senza Confini shelter awaits you at 3.72 kilometers, offering a cozy spot to rest and recharge.
Exploring further, at 4.36 kilometers, you'll encounter another information point, followed by a drinking water station at 4.41 kilometers - remember to stay hydrated throughout your journey. A monument can be found at 4.91 kilometers, adding a touch of history to your hike.
Midway through the route, at 6.56 kilometers, you'll reach the peak of Monte Coppa / Kopa, where you can admire panoramic vistas of the surrounding landscape. Continuing on, at 3.56 kilometers, you'll find a refreshing spring to refill your water bottles.
Before heading back, make a stop at the Gostilna Mojmir restaurant, located 0.12 kilometers from the trail, to fuel up for the return journey. And at 2.83 kilometers, you'll encounter another information point to gather any last-minute details about the area.
