This hiking route takes you to the beautiful area of Monte San Giorgio, offering stunning views and historical landmarks along the way. The trail is 3.544 kilometers long with an elevation gain of 476.0 meters, making it a moderate hike that will take around 2 hours to complete.
Starting at the parking area near the trailhead, you will begin your journey towards Cappella di San Giorgio, a historic ruins located 1.76 kilometers from the start. As you continue along the trail, you will come across Rifugio Lorenzo Nicola, an alpine hut and shelter for hikers, situated 1.68 kilometers from the beginning.
Midway through the hike, you will reach the peak of Monte San Giorgio, offering panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Nearby, you will find an informational point where you can learn about the area's history and geography.
Along the way back, be sure to stop by the wayside shrine and wayside cross, both located approximately 1.75 kilometers from the start. Additionally, there are viewpoints where you can admire the scenery and a takeoff site for free flying enthusiasts.
