This challenging hiking route will take you through the beautiful area around Colle di Mezzo. The route is an out-and-back trail with a total distance of 9.857 kilometers and an elevation gain of 560 meters, so be prepared for a good workout.
You will start your journey at the parking area, located right at the beginning of the trail. Make sure to bring enough water for the hike, as it can be quite strenuous. About 0.01 kilometers from the start, you will find a drinking water station to refill your bottles.
As you continue on the trail, about 0.06 kilometers in, you will come across the San Martino information point, where you can learn more about the area and its history. Further along the trail, at around 0.64 kilometers from the start, you will find another drinking water station to stay hydrated.
Midway through the hike, at approximately 1.78 kilometers from the start, there is another drinking water station available for hikers. At this point, you can take a break and refresh before continuing on your journey.
One of the highlights of the hike is reaching Colle di Mezzo peak, located 4.93 kilometers from the start. The peak offers stunning views of the surrounding landscape and is a great spot to take in the scenery.
After enjoying the peak, make your way back along the trail, passing by the drinking water stations and information point once again. Be sure to check the weather forecast before embarking on this hike, as the terrain can be challenging and weather conditions can change quickly.
