This extremely difficult 14.465-kilometer out-and-back hiking route to Großbergkopf offers a challenging but rewarding experience for hikers. The trail starts at the parking area, where hikers can leave their vehicles before embarking on this adventure.
As you begin the hike, you will pass by Mittlerer Seewisee at around 4.92 kilometers from the start, followed by the Unterer Seewisee at 3.87 kilometers. These serene lakes provide a beautiful backdrop to your journey.
Around 3.45 kilometers into the hike, you will reach the Memminger Hütte, an alpine hut where you can take a break and enjoy some refreshments. Continuing on, you will encounter the Seescharte saddle at 5.3 kilometers, offering stunning views of the surrounding landscape.
Further along the trail, you will pass by the Seeschartenspitze, Seeschartenkopf, and Edelrautenspitze peaks, each offering unique vantage points along the route. At 7.23 kilometers, you will reach the Großbergkopf peak, the final destination of this challenging hike.
Throughout the journey, hikers should be prepared for steep inclines and rugged terrain, as the route includes an elevation gain of 1361 meters. It is important to bring an ample water supply, proper hiking gear, and to check the weather forecast before setting out on this adventure.
