This hiking route will take you through the stunning area surrounding the Refuge de l'Alpe du Pin, offering breathtaking views and challenging terrain. The route is an out-and-back type, with a total distance of 5.35 kilometers and an elevation gain of 651 meters, making it a difficult hike that will take approximately 2 hours and 51 minutes to complete.
Starting from the parking area located at the beginning of the trail, you will make your way towards the first point of interest, Le Relais Des Ecrins, a restaurant located 0.18 kilometers from the start. This is a great spot to take a break and grab a meal before continuing on your journey.
As you continue along the trail, you will come across a waterfall called Cascade de la Froide Pisse, approximately 1.46 kilometers from the start. While it is not directly on the trail, it is worth the short detour to see this natural wonder.
Midway through the hike, you will reach a drinking water point and a fountain located just 0.02 kilometers from the trail. Be sure to refill your water bottle here to stay hydrated for the remainder of the hike.
Towards the end of the route, you will arrive at La Cordes, a bar located 0.1 kilometers from the start. This is a perfect place to relax and enjoy a refreshing drink before heading back to the starting point.
