This challenging hiking route will take you to the stunning Saladinaspitze peak in the alpine region. The total distance of the hike is 7.181 kilometers with an elevation gain of 449.0 meters, making it a difficult but rewarding adventure.
Your journey will begin at the trailhead where you'll find the Formarinalpe alpine hut just 0.01 kilometers away. As you continue along the trail, you'll pass by the Formarinjoch saddle at the beginning of the hike, offering beautiful views of the surrounding natural landscape.
Around 0.71 kilometers into the hike, you'll come across the picturesque Formarinsee water feature, perfect for a refreshing break. Further along the trail, at 1.24 kilometers, you'll reach the Freiburger Hütte alpine hut, a great spot to rest and refuel with its biergarten offering.
Midway through the hike, at 3.59 kilometers, you'll reach the Saladinaspitze peak, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the area. Be sure to take in the scenic vistas before heading back along the same trail.
Throughout the hike, you'll find a few other points of interest, such as the Fensterlewand peak at 2.72 kilometers, a viewpoint at 1.23 kilometers, and an information point at 1.52 kilometers.
