This hiking route takes you through the beautiful area surrounding Colle S. Maffeo. The trail is 5.667 kilometers long with an elevation gain of 104 meters, making it of moderate difficulty.
As you start your hike, you will come across the Torre longobarda archaeological site located 2.79 kilometers from the beginning of the trail. Further along, at around 2.83 kilometers, you will find another archaeological site.
Throughout the hike, you will also encounter the Colle S. Maffeo viewpoint, which offers stunning views of the surrounding landscape. This viewpoint is located at the same distance as the previous archaeological sites, 2.83 kilometers from the start of the trail.
It is essential to bring an adequate supply of water, especially on warmer days, as there are no water sources along the trail. Additionally, checking the weather forecast before heading out is always a good idea to ensure a safe and enjoyable hiking experience.
For those driving to the trailhead, there is parking available at the beginning of the hike. However, if the parking is full, there is additional parking located 0.04 kilometers from the start of the trail.
After completing the hike and taking in the views from Colle S. Maffeo, you will make your way back along the same route, ending where you started.
