This hiking route takes you through the beautiful area surrounding Salzmatt. The trail has a total distance of 4.542 kilometers and an elevation gain of 305 meters, making it of moderate difficulty.

As you start your hike, you will pass by the Schönenboden alpine hut, located just 0.13 kilometers from the start. This is a great spot to take in the scenery and maybe even grab a snack. Further along the trail, at 1.37 kilometers from the start, you will come across an information point providing interesting facts about the area.

Continuing on, at 1.84 kilometers from the start, you will reach the Grossriderhaus information point. This is a good resting point to learn more about the surroundings. Near the midway point of the hike, at 2.18 kilometers from the start, you will find the Salzmatt alpine hut. This is a perfect place to take a break and enjoy the views.

As you make your way back, at 2.23 kilometers from the start, you will pass by a historic wayside cross. Take a moment to appreciate the cultural significance of this structure. Finally, towards the end of the trail, at 2.27 kilometers from the start, you will reach the Salzmatt information point before concluding your hike.
