This extremely difficult 14.391-kilometer out-and-back hiking route will take you to the stunning Monte Azzarini (Fioraro) in the alpine region. The trail offers a challenging elevation gain of 1218 meters and is estimated to take around 6 hours and 22 minutes to complete.
Starting at the trailhead, you will pass by various points of interest along the way. Approximately 3.03 kilometers into the hike, you will come across the Bivacco Alberto Zamboni wilderness hut, where you can take a break and enjoy the surrounding wilderness. Continuing on, at 2.77 kilometers, you will reach the Rifugio Marco Balicco all'Azzaredo alpine hut, offering a cozy spot to rest.
As you hike further, make sure to stay hydrated by utilizing the fountains along the trail, the closest one being just 0.0 kilometers from the start. Additionally, there are parking areas available at different points along the trail for your convenience.
Midway through the journey, you will encounter the picturesque peaks of Monte Azzarini and Picco della Porta, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding natural beauty. Don't forget to check out Passo Della Porta, a saddle point located 3.7 kilometers from the start.
