Welcome to the Hörndl hiking route! This challenging out-and-back trail offers a total distance of 9.164 kilometers with an elevation gain of 891 meters, making it a difficult but rewarding trek for experienced hikers.
Starting at the trailhead, you'll first come across a convenient parking area after a short 0.16 kilometer walk. As you continue along the path, you'll pass by the Brander Alm restaurant at 2.24 kilometers from the start, offering a great spot to refuel and enjoy some local cuisine.
Around the midway point of the hike at 4.58 kilometers from the start, you'll find the Neuer Schmidkunzweg climbing area, followed by the informational point at Hörndl peak. This is a perfect place to take a break, catch your breath, and take in the stunning views.
Near the end of the trail, at 4.45 kilometers from the start, you'll encounter Plateau Hörndl and the Hörndlwand peak, offering breathtaking panoramic vistas of the surrounding landscape. As you make your way back, be sure to stop by the Seehaus restaurant at 0.01 kilometer from the start for some refreshments.
