This extremely difficult 16.481-kilometer circular hiking route will lead you through the breathtaking landscapes of the Steinberggruber area. The trail boasts an elevation gain of 942 meters, offering a challenging yet rewarding trek for experienced hikers.
As you begin your journey, you will pass by the historic wayside crosses at 0.35 kilometers from the start and a parking area at the trailhead. Further along the trail, at 2.24 kilometers, you will encounter another wayside cross with significant historical value.
Midway through the hike, at 7.17 kilometers, you will come across the Steinberggruber, a natural water resource perfect for a refreshing break. The Faulbaumgarten Alm alpine hut at 3.29 kilometers offers a cozy spot to rest and refuel while immersed in the beauty of the surroundings.
Throughout the route, you will find various benches and informative tourism stops to learn more about the area's history and wildlife. Remember to stay hydrated by utilizing the drinking water stations located at 2.88 kilometers from the start.
