The Eckbauer hiking route is a moderate out-and-back trail that covers a distance of 5.3 kilometers with an elevation gain of 217 meters. The trail offers stunning views and starts at the parking area near Berggasthof Wamberg.

As you begin your hike, you'll come across the Berggasthof Wamberg restaurant just 0.03 kilometers from the start, where you can grab a meal or snack before heading out. Along the way, at 1.7 kilometers into the hike, you'll find a viewpoint and bench to rest and enjoy the scenery.

At the midway point of the trail, approximately 2.6 kilometers from the start, you'll reach a series of benches where you can sit and take in the surroundings. Further along, at 2.59 kilometers, there is an alpine hut named Eckbauer where you can explore and relax.

The trail continues towards the Eckbauer peak at 2.65 kilometers, offering panoramic views of the area. As you make your way back, take a moment to appreciate the wayside crosses and additional viewpoints along the trail.
