Chemin de Venon is a beautiful hiking route that offers a super easy trek for all skill levels. The route covers a distance of approximately 1.129 kilometers with an elevation gain of 36 meters, making it a leisurely stroll through nature.
Starting at the parking area near the trailhead, hikers can easily access the beginning of the trail. Along the way, you will come across a historic wayside cross named "Vierge" and another wayside cross. These cultural landmarks add an interesting touch to the hike and are located very close to the start of the trail.
As you continue on the path, about 0.38 kilometers in, you will find a natural water source off the trail. It's a great spot to take a break, refill your water bottle, and enjoy the peaceful sounds of running water.
Further along the trail, at around 0.56 kilometers, another water feature can be found conveniently close to the path. This offers hikers another opportunity to rest and stay hydrated during their journey.
Near the midpoint of the hike, at approximately 0.09 kilometers, you will encounter another wayside cross and a restaurant called "La Table du Vieil Ecotay." This is a perfect spot to take a break, grab a bite to eat, and soak in the scenic surroundings before heading back on the return journey.
As you make your way back to the starting point, keep an eye out for the historic ruins located at a short distance from the trail. These remnants of the past add a touch of mystery and intrigue to the hike.
