This hiking route takes you through the beautiful area surrounding Cavall Bernat, offering stunning views and a variety of points of interest along the way. The trail is a circular route with a total distance of 7.414 kilometers and an elevation gain of 400 meters, making it a difficult but rewarding hike.
As you start your journey, you will come across the Monestir de Santa María de la Murta, a historic monastery located 1.21 kilometers from the beginning of the trail. Further along, at just 0.07 kilometers from the start, you will find a picnic site where you can take a break and enjoy a meal while surrounded by nature.
Throughout the hike, you will also encounter various points of interest such as archaeological sites, natural springs, and rock formations. Be sure to keep an eye out for the Aqüeducte de la Murta, an ancient aqueduct located 1.42 kilometers from the trail.
Midway through the hike, at approximately 3.24 kilometers from the start, you will reach the Pas de Sant Sofí, a natural saddle offering panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. As you continue on, you will pass by the Creu del Cardenal peak and the Font de la Murta spring, both located off the main trail.
The highlight of the hike is reaching the Cavall Bernat peak, which is 3.62 kilometers from the start and offers breathtaking views of the area. Make sure to bring plenty of water, snacks, and sunscreen, as the trail is challenging and can be exposed to the sun.
