This extremely difficult 16.973-kilometer circular hiking route will take you to the breathtaking Monte Petria area.

At the beginning of the trail, you will find Piazzale Carducci, where you can park your car before starting your adventure. As you continue onwards, you will pass by Ara San Maffeo, a cozy wilderness hut that is approximately 7.38 kilometers from the start, offering a resting spot for weary hikers.

Midway through the hike, you will come across Poggio le Vaie, a stunning peak located 2.78 kilometers from the beginning of the trail. This scenic spot is perfect for taking in panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.

Towards the end of the hike, at approximately 8.38 kilometers from the start, you will reach the majestic Monte Petria peak. Make sure to capture the beautiful scenery and enjoy a well-deserved break before heading back.

Throughout the journey, you will find useful amenities such as drinking water sources and even a restaurant called La Cantina sociale for a post-hike meal.

Given the length of the trail and the 702 meters of elevation gain, this hike is considered extremely difficult. It is recommended to bring plenty of water, snacks, and to check the weather forecast before embarking on this challenging adventure.
