The Montardo hiking route is a challenging 11.381-kilometer out-and-back trail that will take approximately 5 hours and 25 minutes to complete. The route features an elevation gain of 1118 meters, offering breathtaking views and a rewarding experience for avid hikers.
The trail begins at Cabana de Rius, where hikers can park their vehicles before embarking on the journey. As you start your hike, you will come across informational points providing interesting facts about the area. Make sure to grab some drinking water from the available source at around 1.79 kilometers into the hike to stay hydrated.
As you continue on the trail, you will pass by Lac deth Cap deth Pòrt, located approximately 2.9 kilometers from the start. This tranquil lake is a perfect spot to take a break and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Further along the route, at 4.32 kilometers, you will reach Coret de Uelhicrestada, a saddle offering panoramic views of the surrounding landscapes.
