This challenging hiking route will take you to the stunning Montardo peak in the beautiful surroundings of the area. The trail spans a distance of 11.381 kilometers with an elevation gain of 1118 meters, making it a difficult yet rewarding adventure.

Starting at the parking area, you will begin your hike towards Cabana de Rius alpine hut, located just 0.06 kilometers from the trailhead. As you continue, you'll pass by Era Restanca and Refugi de la Restanca alpine huts at 1.7 and 1.79 kilometers from the start respectively, offering a chance to rest and refuel along the way.

Midway through your journey, you'll come across Lac deth Cap deth Pòrt at 2.9 kilometers from the start, a picturesque spot to take in the serene water views. Further ahead, at 4.32 kilometers from the start, you'll reach Coret de Uelhicrestada saddle, providing a great vantage point of the surrounding landscape.

Continuing on, you'll encounter various points of interest such as Basses deth Montardo and Còth deth Montardo at 5.31 and 5.49 kilometers from the start respectively. Montardo peak itself can be found at 5.69 kilometers from the start, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the area.

Throughout the hike, you'll also find information points and drinking water sources strategically placed along the trail for your convenience. It is important to note that some of the water sources may not be directly on the trail, so it's recommended to carry an adequate amount of water with you.

Before embarking on this adventure, be sure to check the weather forecast and pack essential hiking gear such as sturdy footwear, plenty of water, snacks, and layers of clothing. This out-and-back route will take approximately 5 hours and 25 minutes to complete, so plan your day accordingly and enjoy the journey to Montardo peak.
