This challenging out-and-back hiking route will take you to Barraca de Rius, nestled in a beautiful natural area. The trail covers a distance of 10.135 kilometers and boasts an elevation gain of 674 meters, making it a difficult but rewarding trek.
As you start your journey, you will pass by a parking area at the trailhead before heading towards Cabana de Rius, an alpine hut located just 0.06 kilometers from the start. This is a perfect spot to rest and take in the stunning surroundings before continuing on your adventure.
Along the way, you will encounter several water sources, with some closer to the trail than others. These natural landmarks provide a refreshing break and a chance to refill your water supply. One of the water sources is located 1.7 kilometers from the start, while others are scattered throughout the route.
About midway through the hike, you will come across Cabana Basses de Rius, a shelter where you can seek refuge and admire the scenery. This is a great spot to take a break and enjoy a snack before tackling the second half of the trail.
