This hiking route takes you through a beautiful area with stunning natural landscapes. The total distance of the hike is approximately 10.4 kilometers with an elevation gain of 674 meters, making it a difficult trail that will take around 4 hours to complete.

You will start your journey at the parking area, located right at the beginning of the trail. As you make your way along the path, you will come across the Cabana de Rius alpine hut, which is a great spot to take a break and enjoy the surroundings.

Along the way, you will encounter several water sources, providing you with opportunities to refill your water bottles. These water points are located at various distances from the trail, with some of them closer to the beginning and others further along the route.

At about 1.7 kilometers into the hike, you will find another water source and the Cabana Basses de Rius shelter nearby. This shelter can be a good resting spot before continuing your journey.

As you reach the halfway point of the trail, approximately 5.2 kilometers from the start, you will find more water sources to refresh yourself.

Towards the end of the hike, around the 5.13-kilometer mark, there are additional water points available for hikers.

Before embarking on this challenging hike, make sure to bring an ample water supply, snacks, proper hiking gear, and check the weather forecast to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience. Stay hydrated and take breaks as needed to fully appreciate the beauty of the Barraca de Rius hiking destination.
