Hiking : Veliki Vrh

This extremely difficult 8.358-kilometer out-and-back hiking route takes you to the stunning Veliki Vrh peak. Starting at the parking area at the beginning of the trail, hikers will encounter various points of interest along the way.

At the beginning of the hike, you will come across Eko-Katun Grbaje, a rustic restaurant where you can fuel up before your adventure. Further along the trail, at 0.2 kilometers from the start, you will find Mulio Suljo, a drinking water stop where you can refill your water bottles.

As you continue your ascent, at 3.64 kilometers from the start, you will reach Krošnjina vrata, a scenic saddle offering breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. Midway through the hike, at 0.17 kilometers from the trail, there is Mountain Hut Karanfil, an alpine hut where you can rest and enjoy a snack.

At 2.34 kilometers from the start, you will find Maja e Bojs, a picturesque peak perfect for a photo opportunity. As you approach the final stretch of the hike, at 3.61 kilometers from the start, you will encounter another peak, unnamed but offering panoramic views.

Finally, at 4.18 kilometers from the start, you will reach Veliki Vrh, the highest point of the hike with unparalleled views of the surrounding mountains.

Given the length of the trail and the elevation gain of 1520 meters, this hike is recommended for experienced hikers. It is important to bring an adequate water supply, snacks, and to check the weather forecast before embarking on this challenging journey.
