This hiking route takes you to the beautiful area surrounding Steinkogel, offering stunning views and challenging terrain. The trail is an out-and-back type, with a total distance of 11.493 kilometers and an elevation gain of 896 meters, making it a difficult hike that will test your endurance.
As you start your journey, you'll come across the Kemater Alm restaurant and alpine hut, located 0.15 kilometers from the beginning of the trail, where you can fuel up before continuing. Further along the trail at 1.24 kilometers, you'll find a bench where you can take a rest and enjoy the surroundings.
At 3.23 kilometers into the hike, there is a spring where you can refill your water supply. As you continue, you'll reach the Adolf-Pichler-Hütte restaurant and alpine hut at 1.89 kilometers from the start, offering another opportunity to rest and refuel.
Midway through the hike, at 4.01 kilometers, there is a viewpoint where you can pause and take in the breathtaking scenery. Further along the trail, at 4.88 kilometers, you'll come across the Schlickersee lake, a perfect spot for a picturesque break.
As you near the end of the trail, at 5.75 kilometers, you'll reach the summit of Steinkogel, a peak offering panoramic views of the surrounding area. Take some time to enjoy the accomplishment before heading back the way you came.
