Located in the beautiful Schöttnerspitze region, this extremely difficult 12.641-kilometer circular hiking route offers stunning views and a challenging adventure for experienced hikers. The trail begins at a convenient parking area and quickly leads you to the Karlsbader Hütte, where you can take a break and enjoy some local cuisine.
As you continue on your journey, you'll encounter several points of interest along the way. Make sure to stop by the Marcherstein memorial and the Gedenkkapelle wayside shrine for a moment of reflection. Keep an eye out for the Kleine Laserzwand peak and the Roter Turm peak, both offering breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.
Stay hydrated by filling up your water bottle at the drinking water stations scattered throughout the trail. Benches are also available at various locations for you to rest and take in the scenery. For history buffs, the Alpenraute Lienz memorial is a must-visit spot near the Laserzsee.
If you're up for an extra challenge, the Wet Foot via ferrata provides a thrilling climbing experience. However, be sure to exercise caution and stay on the marked trail to ensure your safety.
