This hiking route takes you through a challenging but rewarding trail in a scenic area. The route is an out-and-back type, leading you to the Rifugio Carmagnola destination. With a total distance of 14.075 kilometers and an elevation gain of 994 meters, this hike is rated as extremely difficult, so be prepared for a strenuous trek.

As you start your journey, you will come across a parking area at the beginning of the trail, which can be a convenient spot to leave your vehicle. Along the way, you will encounter several points of interest. About 1.04 kilometers from the start, you will find an information point providing insights into the area's history. Further ahead, at the 1.2-kilometer mark, you will pass by the ruins of Opera Vallo Alpino, adding a touch of historical charm to your hike.

As you continue on, approximately 2.44 kilometers from the start, a natural spring offers a refreshing stop for thirsty hikers. Around the 5.4-kilometer mark, another information point stands, ready to enrich your understanding of the surroundings. Midway through the trail, at 6.67 kilometers, La Colletta saddle provides a picturesque spot to rest and take in the views.

Closer to the endpoint, at 7.04 kilometers, you will reach the Rifugio Carmagnola, an alpine hut where you can take a well-deserved break and enjoy some local hospitality.
