This hiking route takes you through a beautiful area with stunning views and natural landmarks. The route is an out-and-back type, with a total distance of 4.805 kilometers and an elevation gain of 137 meters, making it an easy hike suitable for most skill levels.
Starting at the trailhead, you will pass by several points of interest along the way. About 0.67 kilometers from the start, you will come across "Patoquinuas," a water feature that is not directly on the trail but worth a short detour. Further along, at the 1.52-kilometer mark, you will reach "Apicocha," another water source located right on the trail.
Continuing on, at around 2.11 kilometers into the hike, you will pass by a café called "Centro de Interpretacion La Toreadora," a great spot to take a break and refuel. A bit later, at 2.32 kilometers, you can stop by a viewpoint labeled as "SN" where you can enjoy panoramic views of the surroundings.
As you approach the halfway point at 2.4 kilometers, you will reach another viewpoint that offers breathtaking scenery. For those driving to the trailhead, there is parking available at the start of the trail as well as at the 2.38-kilometer mark for convenience.
At the turnaround point, approximately 2.4 kilometers into the hike, you will find "Refugio Toreadora," an alpine hut where you can rest and enjoy a well-deserved break before heading back. On the way back, consider stopping by "Baracca," an information point located 2.37 kilometers from the start, providing additional insights into the area.
Before embarking on this hike, make sure to bring an adequate water supply, sunscreen, and a trail map. Check the weather forecast beforehand and wear appropriate hiking attire.
