Welcome to the hiking route to the Tunnel de la Citadelle in Besançon! This route is a super easy and enjoyable hike, perfect for all skill levels.
The trail starts at the parking area and as you begin your hike, you will come across the Pavillon d’entrée du front Saint-Etienne, a historic castle just 0.12 kilometers from the start. Along the way, you will also find benches at various points, perfect for taking a rest and enjoying the surroundings.
As you continue on the trail, you may encounter the Citadelle de Besançon, another historic castle located 0.21 kilometers from the start. You can also explore the Bassin gallo-romain, an archaeological site located 0.19 kilometers from the start.
Throughout the hike, you will pass by restaurants such as Le Visconti and Au Bouchon Rivotte, perfect for a post-hike meal. Make sure to stay hydrated by using the drinking water facilities along the trail.
