Located in a beautiful natural area, the Potawatomi Trail offers a serene hiking experience suitable for all skill levels. This out-and-back trail covers a distance of 4.804 kilometers with no significant elevation gain, making it an easy hike that can be enjoyed by beginners and experienced hikers alike.
As you begin your journey, you will pass by Pickerel Lake, a picturesque water body located just 0.28 kilometers from the start of the trail. Further along the path, at 0.69 kilometers, you will come across another stunning water feature. These spots provide a perfect opportunity to take a break, enjoy the peaceful surroundings, and maybe even snap some photos.
Around the midway point of the trail, at 1.38 kilometers, you will encounter an information site where you can learn more about the area's flora, fauna, and history. Continuing on, at 1.75 kilometers, there is another water feature to admire before reaching the parking area at 2.4 kilometers, where you can leave your vehicle and access the trail with ease.
As you venture onwards, keep an eye out for the Guinan Stone Fireplace & Root Cellar at 1.03 kilometers from the start. This unique attraction adds an interesting touch to your hiking experience and provides a glimpse into the area's past.
