This hiking route takes you through the beautiful area surrounding Salzfrau. The trail is a circular route with a total distance of 3.205 kilometers and an elevation gain of 147 meters, making it an easy hike suitable for all skill levels.

You will start your journey at Wanderparkplatz Hitzelrode, a parking area located right at the beginning of the trail. As you make your way through the scenic landscape, you will come across several points of interest along the route.

About 1 kilometer into the hike, you will reach the Pferdeloch viewpoint, offering stunning views of the surrounding area. Further along the trail, at the 1.43 kilometer mark, you will encounter the Salzfrau viewpoint, showcasing even more beautiful scenery.

As you continue your hike, you will pass by Wolfstisch viewpoint at the halfway point, providing a perfect spot to take a break and enjoy the view. Additionally, you will come across various boundary stones of historic significance scattered throughout the route.

For a quick rest or refreshment, Helgas Eck pub is conveniently located just 0.04 kilometers off the trail. However, be sure to bring an ample supply of water and check the weather forecast before embarking on this hike.
