As you start your journey, you will come across Wanderparkplatz Hitzelrode, a parking area with wheelchair access. This is a convenient spot to park your vehicle before beginning the hike. Along the way, you will encounter several points of interest, including the archaeological site Brandwall located 1.7 kilometers from the start of the trail. Further along, at the 1.93-kilometer mark, you will find another section of Brandwall.

For a scenic viewpoint, make sure to visit Aussichtspunkt Hohestein, located 2.01 kilometers into the hike. Here, you can take in panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Additionally, there are benches scattered along the trail where you can take a rest and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.

As you continue on, you will pass by several historic boundary stones that add to the charm of the route. One such stone is located 1.38 kilometers from the start, with others spread out at different points along the trail.

At the 2.02-kilometer mark, you will reach the peak of Hohestein, offering a rewarding vantage point overlooking the area. Nearby, at the Hörnelücke saddle, you can take a moment to appreciate the natural beauty that surrounds you.
