Located in a picturesque area, the hiking route to Schwanensee is a super easy 1.518-kilometer circular trail with no elevation gain. The trail starts at the parking area where you can leave your vehicle for a fee of 1€ per day. As you begin your journey, you'll come across the Alte Orangerie, a historic building open for visits on demand or for rent.
Continuing on the trail, you'll pass by several benches where you can take a moment to rest and enjoy the serene surroundings. Midway through the hike, at a distance of 0.73 kilometers from the start, you'll reach the picturesque Schwanensee (Swan Lake), a beautiful water feature perfect for a photo op or a peaceful break.
For those interested in historic sites, the route also includes the Turniersäule/Sonnenuhr memorial along the way. Remember to pack water and snacks as there are limited facilities on the trail. Additionally, it's advisable to check the weather forecast before setting out.
At the end of the trail, there is a restaurant called Parkrestaurant Rosenau where you can refuel after your hike. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible and offers a variety of dining options. As you complete the circular route, you'll return to the parking area where your adventure began.
