This extremely difficult 16.361-kilometer circular hiking route in the Guggernellgrat area offers a challenging yet rewarding experience for hikers. With an elevation gain of 1358 meters and a duration of approximately 7 hours and 10 minutes, this trail is not for the faint of heart.
Starting at the parking area at the trailhead, hikers will find information points along the way providing insights into the local area. About 0.15 kilometers from the start, there is an information point with valuable details. As you proceed, you will encounter another information point at the beginning of the trail.
Around the 3.93-kilometer mark, there is a drinking water point conveniently located on the trail for hikers to refill their water bottles. Further along, at about 4.06 kilometers from the start, you will find the Schmittner Alp, a perfect spot to take a break and enjoy the surroundings.
At the midway point, approximately 6.39 kilometers from the start, another drinking water point is available for hikers. As you continue, you will come across a fountain at 7.97 kilometers, providing a refreshing stop along the trail.
