This hiking route will take you to the beautiful area of Pic de l'Étang Fourcat. The trail is 6.729 kilometers long and has an elevation gain of 1211 meters, making it an extremely difficult hike. It is recommended to prepare physically and mentally for this challenging journey.
As you start your hike, you will come across some parking areas at the beginning of the trail. Throughout the hike, you will also find shelters such as Orris du carla and Cabane de Lauzes for resting or seeking shelter if needed. These shelters are located 0.06 kilometers and 1.76 kilometers from the start of the trail, respectively.
One of the highlights of this route is reaching the peak of Pic de l'Étang Fourcat, located 3.36 kilometers from the start of the trail. The breathtaking views from the peak make all the effort worthwhile. Additionally, you will pass by a picnic site and a historic monument called Orris Carla d'en haut along the way.
As you hike back, you will also encounter a saddle, providing a unique vantage point of the surrounding landscape.
